EMILIO BARBIERI
Emilio Barbieri is a name that evokes the authentic essence of Emilian culinary culture. Born in 1950 in the picturesque village of Salvaterra, in the province of Reggio Emilia. Emilio spent his childhood immersed between his land’s authentic aromas and flavours.
In the 1960s, the Barbieri family moved to Modena and took over the management of Bar Mazzini, a historic bar in the charming square of the same name. Later, they moved to Sassuolo, and here, Emilio continued to support his parents in running the Albergo Ristorante Regina. In 1967, the restaurant was awarded by the legendary Luigi Carnacina and the Accademia Italiana Della Cucina, Delegazione Di Modena, with a prestigious cup and gold medal, an acknowledgement of the value of their cuisine.
Emilio undertakes various activities in the gastronomic sector. He is the pioneer in Modena in proposing a small restaurant at the Caffè Dei Portici, which he opened. However, with the opening of ‘Strada Facendo’, in Via Emilia Ovest 622, together with his wife, Rita Antonella, his genuine passion for cooking comes to the fore, resurfacing with vigour.
